Dear Davy: My Good-Bye to KC's Legend

Davy,

I have some of the most respect for you than I have for anybody that I know. Over your 10 playing years with KC Wizards / Sporting KC, fans quickly realized that you're not only the great, passionate player that everyone sees on the field, but also a great person and leader off the field.

I can't even begin to describe how lucky all fans have been to have you apart of our club; the passion you see from fans is fueled when we see your never-dying hard work and dedication for our team. You truly have been, and will always be, one of the main faces of Kansas City's professional soccer team.

When I attempt to think of my favorite moment from your time in Kansas City, it's incredibly hard to narrow it down to one moment or aspect. What about your performance in the 2004 Western Conference Final home to the Galaxy, or your stunning strikes from the 2009 home-opener against Toronto at Community America Ballpark? Also, you can't forget your astounding recovery from injury this year; the reception from the LIVESTRONG Park crowd was deafening. In general, I think the two things I will remember most from your time in KC were your blasts from long range, and most of all, your never-die attitude and incredible hard work.

Watching and supporting you all these years, I would like to wish you nothing but the best in Montreal - except for against us, of course. It's sad that your time with Sporting had to come to an end, but I'm sure you're looking forward to your next challenge, playing for a new MLS club. I have no doubt that you will play a huge role in Montreal, and succeed greatly.

Kansas City will always be your home; the Cauldron always your friends.

Best wishes,

Isaac
