How I grew into the soccer fan I am now

I haven't always been crazy about soccer; it took me a little while to develop my passion for playing and watching it. My love for the game started small, like a unicellular organism, then it multiplied and multiplied into what it is now--a crazy, fanatic addiction. I spend hours each day scouring the web in search for anything related to soccer, but mostly directed toward Sporting Kansas City, the team that I follow the most.

I started to follow Kansas City's MLS team back when they were called the Wizards, with Bob Gansler as the coach, as they played in the always-empty Arrowhead Stadium. No matter their name, uniforms, coach, stadium, or situation, I will always love this team.

For these reasons I've started this blog. I hope for this site to be one where passionate soccer fans, like myself, go to discuss and enjoy the sport. My idea of starting a blog just popped into my head, but it wasn't completely out of the blue (haha, funny pun with SKC's jerseys being blue and all). Many soccer blogs have inspired me: Downthebyline.com, Backpost.net, The Full 90, and many others. Thank you for your great blogging.

I am only 14 years old, but I love to write and I love soccer, so I thought it made sense to combine some of my two favorite things to make a soccer blog.

Come back in the near future to this blog to see a variety of new posts. I have many ideas, ranging from SKC team news, to game previews and reviews. Most likely, I will also write about international soccer occasionally.

You can also follow me on Twitter @FootyChronicles.

To end on a bright note, here is one of the two commercials Sporting KC put out recently:

Thanks for reading. Keep up the great blogging.
