I know it's a bit of a late reaction on my part, but Major League Soccer has released the full 2012 regular season schedule. View the full league schedule here and Sporting KC's schedule here. If you'd like to look at the specific national television schedules, check out these pages: ESPN networks schedule, NBC/NBC Sports schedule, and the Galavision schedule.I wanted to note a few interesting things:
- According to a post by Sounder At Heart, Sporting KC have the third easiest schedule this year, based on results from the 2011 season
- All games after June 20th are against Eastern opponents, so there will be game after game of "six-pointers" as the season winds down
- Sporting Kansas City are scheduled for seven national televised matches (four on NBC networks, two on ESPN networks, and one on Galavision), which is a record for the club
What do you make of the unbalanced schedule? What games are you most excited for? Any other thoughts? Give your say in the comments section below.
I definitely see the third easiest season thing. I'm in the midst of a post reviewing the teams we're playing, but hey, I love having an easy season!
ReplyDeleteNice, I'll check out your post!
ReplyDeleteIf you use last season's results to weigh the difficulty of schedule, I'm sure you'll find Eastern conference teams have much easier schedules than their Western counterparts.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't think that's entirely accurate. Teams in the Eastern Conference struggled last year, but I expect at least a couple of them (D.C. for one) to have stronger seasons from the start.
The West will still be stronger, but I think the gap will shrink a bit.
Very good point.
