Nowak leaves the Union to fulfill elite status

"I've always had big dreams of coaching in the EPL," Peter Nowak told The Footy Chronicles Wednesday morning, "but it was only until a few days ago that I realized that I just need to believe in myself. I obviously have the credentials to coach in the best league in the world."

The Union, second-to-last in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer, have been extremely disappointing this season. Nowak had very simple reasoning for the Union's troubles. "I blame Mwanga entirely. That's why we had to ship him out to the Timbers, in fact."

Roberto Di Matteo
The coaching environment in Philadelphia was not up to par, explained Nowak. He needed to be with a bigger club to fit his, quote, "elite status." Thus, the third-year Union coach approached the Union's CEO, Nick Sakiewicz, about his decision to leave the MLS club to pursue the head coaching job at Chelsea. Sakiewicz understood Nowak's decision, and was said to have a slight smile as Nowak left the premises Monday evening. Since then, Chelsea have announced their hiring of Roberto Di Matteo, which means Nowak is unemployed. The situation left Nowak optimistic. "If that guy can walk into the manager position at Chelsea, anyone can. I will continue to pursue a more elite coaching position." It is now said that he is after a job in Scotland.
